It is quite disturbing to read in newspapers that government has removed poor beggars on Delhi's streets just because they are thought to be spoiling the beauty of the capital city. The habitats of these people ,literally the mud shacks and shanties were either removed off or were covered with the Commonwealth games banners and posters depicting the mascot Shera on them.
Now,Shera can't hide the poor and the poverty of our nation ,try as much as we can and moreover is this the way to progress, that is ,by neglecting the masses who are Below Poverty Line(BPL) and who form more than 50% of our nation's population and furthermore those poor who provide us cheap labour to build towering buildings.Well,Certainly not.
This Commonwealth has started blazingly with quite a dramatic opening ceremony with display of our rich heritage, signaling India's growing power and its rising millionaires but what about those who have no culture ,no religion and who spend their life looking for just some pieces of bread here and there.
This rising divide between the rich and the poor will escalate and could easily result into devouring the national peace situation ,just like the caste divide .The governing authorities could have spent some little amount on the development of nation's poor out of the moolah spent on what are world's most expensive Commonweath games so far.By not doing so they have certainly shown how inefficient they are and this is how our JUGAAD mentality works ,which is baring us to shed the tag of a developing nation.
